20% Project Post 3

This week I have been researching more about destruction and conservation of marine environments again.  I learned about how oil spills affect wildlife and habitats.  I have begun working with my camera. I learned that the camera mounted on a pole works well is some situations while a wrist mount has other advantages.  I learned that I need to work on keeping the camera steady.  I learned how to work my camera with ease in and out of water.

I have tested my camera in and out of water.  I am almost finished with my empathy interview questions.   I started looking at the way surface runoff affects these habitats.  I also looked at specific dive sites near San Diego, where I plan to film. My research is also almost finished.

I am struggling to film smoothly underwater.  I have found that when copying video off the camera onto my computer some footage has been lost, so I will need to work on that.  I am having some difficulty finding a mentor.  Every person I have asked so far has said no, so I will need to keep asking other people.

I will finish my research by Friday.  I am going to ask three more people today about being my mentor.  I will begin looking at underwater filming techniques to improve my skills. I am going to interview my first diver next Tuesday.

Really impressive quality on the video! What's the make and model of the camera you're using? Keep it up. : )
